With its 300 days of sunshine (biking season from March-November), the Vinschgau region is an El Dorado for mountain bikers. The sun-flooded Sonnenberg is free of snow nearly year-round, while the shaded Nördersberg offers many little known biking tours along secluded forest paths and trails.
At a difference in altitude of more than 1,000 meters “downhill”, the cycling path []Via Claudia Augusta[] from Lake Reschen to Meran offers diversity that cannot be found anywhere else. “From the glacier to the grapevine” – more than just an advertising slogan.

The card is available for a price of 14,00 € and includes 1 train ticket plus a rental bike with a crash helmet. Train travel is free for children up to 6 years of age. (Rental fee per children’s bike 5,00 €. Children and youths up to 16 years of age: 7,00 €. Group rate for 10 or more people 12,00 € per person.) You’ll travel through the Vinschgau region for an entire day by train and bicycle, traveling wherever and for as long as you like.
BIKE SHUTTLE: Anyone who would rather discover the Vinschgau region on their own bike can contact the transport service “Rent a Radl”. This bike shuttle service guarantees transportation every two hours from the Meran train station to Mals and back. Price: 4,00 €.
The road is blocked from 08.00 till 16.00 clock clock Trafoi to the pass to motorized traffic.

The starting points for the tour are the respective train stations in the valley, which can be reached every thirty minutes with the Vinschgau Railway. This makes it easier to get to and from the campground if you don’t want to make your own way there by bike.
From mid-April various bike shuttles are also available to you, which guarantee an affordable shuttle service to the starting points of the tours.

“Via Claudia Augusta” Cycling Path
The old Roman imperial road “Via Claudia Augusta”, which goes from the Reschenpass to Meran, is a special kind of biking experience for families with children or really for anyone. To get to the Vinschgau cycling path you can set off directly from our campground and ride along the “Via Claudia Augusta”, through meadows, orchards and villages to comfortably arrive at your destination. The Vinschgau cycling path has been one of the nicest and most varied cycling paths in South Tyrol since 2005.The highest pass in the Alps
