Marienberg Abbey

High above the village of Burgeis, the Marienberg Abbey is located at a height of 1,340 metres; precious Romanesque frescoes can be admired in the crypt. A museum gives insights into the eventful history of the abbey, which has been inhabited by Benedictine monks since the 12th Century.
